A Moment With One Of Our Moms

In honor of Mother’s Day, Robertson’s Flowers asked one of our own super moms to share her experience and insight when it comes to both floral design and raising kids.

Name: Sandy Robertson MacEachern

Kids’ first names and ages: I have a daughter, Sarah (27) and a son, Jaime (22).

How did you get into floral work?

I’m part of the 4th generation at Robertson’s, my family’s business, so I started working on weekends as a teenager and it has just evolved from there. It’s been such an amazing journey watching the company grow and evolve with the community and trends in the floral industry.

What do you love most about working with flowers?

I love seeing the flowers we carry change with the seasons and how happy they make our customers.

Favorite flower?

Peonies, ranunculus and sweet peas are my faves.

If you design, do you have a signature style? Are you known for any specific approach or preference?

I prefer a more natural, garden style.

What do you love most about being a mom?

I’m so proud of my kids and love watching them grow into amazing adults.

What do your kids think about what you do? Are they into flowers?

My daughter, Sarah, is part of the 5th generation and is currently running our retail stores. She’s very artistic, and I love working with her every day. My son is about to graduate from college and is one of our biggest fans. You can always find him rocking Robertson’s gear around, but he seems to have chosen a different path.

What flowers or flower design do moms really want for Mother’s Day, from your point of view? Speaking as both a mom and a flower expert? If you could pick one design from your selection to receive yourself, which would it be?                                                                                                                                                       A beautiful mix of spring pastels seems to be the most preferred color palette, and peonies are always a seasonal favorite that customers look forward to seeing in their arrangements.

Enchanted Spring is my top pick from our Mother’s Day offerings and sure to be a big hit. It’s soft and springy and comes in a white ceramic vase for that extra special touch.
