Your Table’s Summer Plans

By robertsonsflowers on July 2, 2018 in Flowers, Summer Flowers. 0 Comments

Going on vacay this summer? Robertson's Flowers sure hopes so, whether it's that milestone trip abroad or a tour of the States. If you aren't planning anything more than a staycation, no worries, you can fake an atmosphere of worldly well-traveledness with flowers. Don't believe us? Flowers have the capacity to conjure up memories, to reflect the spirit and landscape of other cultures, to transport us to distant places or distant moments. It's because they make such a strong appeal to the senses (with the exception of sound), connecting us to a moment or a destination in a way that many things can't. A Delicious Hostess Gift For the 4th of July

By robertsonsflowers on June 24, 2018 in Flowers, Host Gift. 0 Comments

Like many of you, Robertson's Flowers & Events will be spending Independence Day commemorating our nation's rich history and celebrating our freedoms by exercising them---gathering with friends and family, attending parades and staying all the way until the firework finale. Most of us will partake in barbecue and football and a long, easy day spent outdoors. Maybe we'll be at the lake or unwinding by the pool, or meandering down the street to our neighbor's annual potluck, waving our sparklers and bearing provisions. If we'll be spending the holiday in someone else's home, it's the sweetest of gestures to offer a hostess gift. And on this iconic American holiday, a delectable food gift feels just right. Why is June the most popular month of the year to get married? We here at Robertson's Flowers & Events will tell you why: because it's beautiful. The weather is more temperate---so blue skies and sunny days. People are up for adventure, taking their vacation days (and advantage of school being out) to explore new places and visit loved ones. And as for flowers? So many are at their peak, making it a veritable garden of floral choices for brides and grooms. We love designing for our June weddings, reveling in the textures, colors and fragrances of so many signature blooms. Where there are weddings, there are anniversaries, and the season's glorious offerings make the perfect floral gift there too. Read More about Anniversary Flowers That Will Make You Renew Your Vows

An Easy Green Gift Idea For Dad

By robertsonsflowers on June 11, 2018 in Father's Day, Gifts. 0 Comments

Rather than go to the ends of the earth to find that dad in your life something special for Father's Day, look to the earth for inspiration. Robertson's Flowers & Events acknowledges that shopping for dad is difficult, and this June 17 will likely be no exception. Though we may implore him to tell us what he wants, even needs, dads aren't very forthcoming in offering gift ideas. They tend to put themselves last and everybody else first, preferring to stay out of the limelight and to instead focus it on everyone else in the family. But fear not. This year, we've got a clever solution to the dilemma of what to give dad. Read More about An Easy Green Gift Idea For Dad

Behold Early Summer’s Bright Beauties!

By robertsonsflowers on June 5, 2018 in Flowers, Summer Flowers. 0 Comments

Here at Robertson's Flowers & Events, we want to give you a taste of what summer has in store, flower-wise. Does that involve peonies, you ask? Why yes, yes it does. Peonies are one of our favorite flowers to work with. To us, they just scream summer in a vase, with their manifold layers, each one perfectly painted with color. What makes peonies so precious is that they don't, in fact, bloom very long each season. But if you treat them right once they arrive in the home, you'll have them around for a good long time. A Weekend Reserved For Entertaining

By robertsonsflowers on May 14, 2018 in Flowers, Memorial Day. 0 Comments

On May 28th, we honor the soldiers who died in service to country, remembering the friends and family whose heroism touched our lives. But this is also a time when we gather together with the people in our lives now. The three-day weekend on the cusp of summer is an occasion to go outdoors and celebrate the change of seasons and the time we have together. Many people will be hosting backyard barbecues, al fresco dinners or other events in tribute to Memorial Day. Whether big or small, informal or formal, flowers are often called for. We use them in multiple ways on an occasion like this---to commemorate our fallen heroes, to decorate our outdoor tables and to enhance our outdoor spaces overall in preparation for summer. Robertson's Flowers has an abundance of flowering plants and floral designs to do just that. Read More about A Weekend Reserved For Entertaining

A Moment With One Of Our Moms

By robertsonsflowers on May 7, 2018 in Flowers, Gifts, Mother's Day, Spring Flowers. 0 Comments

In honor of Mother's Day, Robertson's Flowers asked one of our own super moms to share her experience and insight when it comes to both floral design and raising kids. Name: Sandy Robertson MacEachern Kids' first names and ages: I have a daughter, Sarah (27) and a son, Jaime (22). How did you get into floral work?    I'm part of the 4th generation at Robertson's, my family's business, so I started working on weekends as a teenager and it has just evolved from there. It's been such an amazing journey watching the company grow and evolve with the community and trends in the floral industry. Read More about A Moment With One Of Our Moms

Custom Celebrations For The Spring Season

By robertsonsflowers on April 30, 2018 in Celebrations, Chestnut Hill Store, Flower Gifts, Flowers, Prom Flowers, Spring Flowers. 0 Comments

Robertson's Flowers loves this time of year, when our Philadelphia-area grads are off to parties, proms, award ceremonies and, of course, graduation. For many of our young scholars, the flowers they receive (or give) during this time are some of the first of their lives, and without a doubt some of the most memorable. This is why the floral gift you offer your favorite grad takes on a lot of significance---not only will these flowers be remembered, but they will be well photographed, tied to one of the most emotion-filled moments we look back on. Graduation isn't the only momentous event to take place in spring, either. Read More about Custom Celebrations For The Spring Season

A Bit Of Green For Earth Day

By robertsonsflowers on April 16, 2018 in Earth Day. 0 Comments

Earth Day is rolling around again on April 22, and we here at Robertson's Flowers are happy to report that our Philadelphia community is pulling out all the stops when it comes to celebrating our great planet. The sheer variety of events going on about town offers us the chance to get educated and informed as well as to do something active to promote environmental awareness. Clean-ups, recycling drives and other initiatives give us an opportunity to give back to our community and to feel a part of the bigger global effort to preserve the Earth. It's a little like terra firma's birthday, and it deserves a party. After you've done your part, gather up friends and family and make a meal together. Shop local, serve a big salad and make sure you're featuring some of Mother Nature's greenest treasures. Read More about A Bit Of Green For Earth Day
