As you're unwinding the Christmas tree lights and draping your house in garlands and ornaments, don't forget to deck the workplace halls, too. At Robertson's Flowers, we believe that your home away from home should receive the holiday treatment as well. After all, we spend an average 34.4 hours at the office, so it's no stretch to say that our coworkers, colleagues, customers, and clients can really be like family to us. Yes, we said it. These centerpieces are guaranteed a spot on even the pickiest of Pinterest flower boards.
We're not tooting our own horn for nothing. At Robertson's Flowers, we feel like the Thanksgiving centerpiece has been long overdue for some image rehab. Rustic cornucopias and plaid taffeta ribbons are nice - as are taper candles encircled by harvest florals - but we've got a broader view of what the Thanksgiving centerpiece can do. We like the idea of mixing it up with the season's loveliest blooms, berries, and garden goodies in a palette that feels more romantic than rustic. Check out some of our seasonal favorites to see an upgraded centerpiece. Read More about Pinterest-Worthy Centerpieces for Thanksgiving »

Thanksgiving is on the horizon, and if you're like many Americans, you'll be traveling over hill and dale (or just up the block) to gather with friends and family. Last year, 50 million people drove at least 50 miles to do the same. And while you may be contributing an item to the table, we at Robertson's Flowers encourage you to arrive with something else: a host gift.
Even in these post-Emily Post days, a host gift is a lovely gesture that shows your gratitude. It's an occasion to give something beautiful to people who are giving so much to you and going to such lengths to present a holiday feast. Naturally, we think the best host gift is flowers. Here in Philadelphia, we're gearing up for the Veterans Parade on November 5, as well as a wave of other events that celebrate our U.S. military veterans' service to their country. Our community is rich with such heroes, and as the observances get underway, we at Robertson's Flowers & Events are thinking about how personal gestures that extend our gratitude to our favorite patriots are just as important as public expressions. Naturally, we see the gift of flowers as the perfect way to honor our deserving family and friends. Read More about Floral Arrangements for Veterans Day »

Autumn in Philly is already gorgeous, make no mistake. But at Robertson's Flowers, we believe you can gild the lily, specifically by adding some dazzling dahlias for Fall to your seasonal decorations. The flower of the moment also happens to be a terrific bloom for the cooler months. Its intricate beauty adds dimension and texture to an arrangement, and because it comes in a variety of nuanced colors, it plays well against bolder, more audacious harvest hues. Moving into a new neighborhood can be a bit overwhelming. Between unpacking boxes, getting kids settled and making sure that the internet is working, it is easy to feel a little lost.
So if you see a moving truck heading into your Philadelphia subdivision carrying a new family, be sure to greet them and ask if there is anything you can do to help. Consider bringing over a home-cooked meal, along with paper plates and utensils. You may even offer to help stack empty boxes, or run to the store for needed items. But once things settle down, sending a gift from Robertson's Flowers is an awesome way to assure them that they are welcome, and you are glad to be new neighbors.
